Health and Safety Statement of Intent
Alternative Windows recognise that the Health and Safety at Work Act
1974 is the major piece of health and safety legislation in Great
Britain. For which places responsibility on employers and employees
together to produce a solution to health and safety problems,
subject to the test of reasonable practicability.
In addition to the Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999
for which provides a framework for setting up systems for effective
health and safety. Alternative Windows is committed to ensuring that
appropriate actions are undertaken to protect the health, safety and
welfare of employees whilst at work.
In addition to all other persons who may be affected by the
Companies work undertakings (which as a priority, we rank equally
with output performance and profits). Alternative Windows have joint
overall responsibility for health and safety matters and along with
the appropriate assistance of the General Manager, will ensure the
undertaking of consultation with all employees on matters affecting
individual health and safety, in accordance with The Health and
Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996.
Clear lines of responsibility have been established for the
communication, implementation, reporting and monitoring of health
and safety matters within Alternative Windows. However, whilst
recognition and acknowledgement is readily given for the Company to
comply with its legal obligations and the consequence of penalties
that maybe imposed for its failures to do so. Employees at all
levels are additionally reminded that they also have duties of
compliance whilst at work, to ensure satisfactory standards of
health and safety. Such as those specified by section 7 of the
Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, to take care of their own
health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their
acts or omissions. Whilst as expanded on by regulation 12 of the
Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, in addition to
co-operating in ensuring that requirements or duties as imposed on
them by other regulations are complied with.
It is therefore required of all our employees and sub-contractors
who maybe indirectly employed by Alternative Windows to be
co-operative and supportive of the Company. In order to ensure the
effective and continuing compliance with the above mentioned Act and
applicable Regulations, which contents clearly spell out the means
of attaining general health, safety and welfare compliance.
As a minimum the Directors will also ensure that this policy
statement and the full content of the Company's health and safety
policy document is reviewed on an annual basis.
